Having garnered success as a digital type foundry publishing the FontFont library (the worlds most comprehensive selection of original fonts),
FSI FontShop International now enters a new realm by introducing fStop: its first collection of royalty-free pictures by designers for designers.
The idea behind fStop was similar to that of FontFonts: create a venue for creatives from around the world to share their work with other designers.
Once the idea for fStop
took shape, FSI founders
Erik Spiekermann and
Joan Spiekermann invited
talented and recognized
designers to submit their
individualistic photos and images.
Most of the contributors to fStops first release have
multidisciplinary backgrounds and as a result, the images
in this collection cover a wide range of styles and subjects which transcend conventional stock imagery.
What sets all of this work
apart is perhaps the investigative quality that pervades ita curiosity from the purely graphic to situations that explore the boundaries of
the familiar and unfamiliar.
fStop showcases the work of those with the ability to isolate situations, moments and details in an unexpected visual waya designers point of view rather than that of a commercial photographer.
The work in this first release
of fStop provides a range of inspiring, eclectic images
useful in multiple contexts.
