Rising from the dirty waters of old font formats comes a new, fresh Fountain. Our talented friends in Malmö, Sweden have updated their entire collection to OpenType for cross-platform compatibility and easier access to extras like small caps, alternates, and ligatures.

Many fonts were also given the royal “Pro” treatment with full CE support for communicating in languages like Bosnian, Croatian, Czech, Hungarian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Polish, Romanian, Serbian, Slovak, Slovene, and Turkish.

But first, three brand new designs demonstrate Fountain’s attitude of an eye on the future with a foot in typographic history.

Atlantik

Sylvia and Daniel Janssen trawled vintage specimen books for wave ornaments to create this collection of over 200 ripples and swells that can be used separately or combined to make illustrations, borders, frames, and patterns.

Dessau Pro

Dessau is Gábor Kóthay’s take on Bauhaus typography with a twist from his Hungarian homeland. Recall the work of Breuer, Moholy-Nagy, and Molnár with this family of eleven different styles, from variations of round and spurless sans serifs to stenciled and inline display.

Tycho Pro

In creating a typeface for the Tycho Brahe Museum on the island of Ven in Sweden, Lucas Brusquini drew from the 16th century books of Tycho Brahe, printed on the same island. His Tycho parts from the mishmash of type used in the source material and adds an italic based on Brusquini’s own calligraphy. Use Tycho Book for text from 6 to 12 points, and Tycho Display — with its high contrast and long delicate serifs — for big, beautiful headlines.

Anziano Pro

Ketchupa Pro, Mayo Pro & Mustardo Pro

New: Support for Central and Eastern European languages. Added alternate glyphs to Mayo. Borders redesiged to accommodate diacritics. Support in Ketchupoa and Mustardo for Sweden’s Skåne dialect.

Lisboa Pro & Lisboa Sans Pro

New: Support for Central and Eastern European languages. Re-drawn and re-kerned. Added dingbats.

Sauerkrauto Pro
