New Foundry: PrésenceTypo
PrésenceTypo is an independent digital type foundry nestled in the French Alps. Founder and principal designer Thierry Puyfoulhoux, studied calligraphy and typography at the Scriptorium de Toulouse and the Imprimerie Nationale in Paris under the direction of José Mendoza y Almeida. The foundry’s motto is “small is more and less is beautiful (or something like that).” The PrésenceTypo collection is filled with traditionally inspired text faces as well as modern sans serifs, elegant scripts, and bold headliners. Every font is impeccably produced.

New Foundry: Club-21
Julian Morey, a London-based designer, began his career with a prestigious stint at Peter Saville Associates, where he collaborated on designs for Factory Records, New Order, and The Haçienda. Now an independent design consultant, Morey works with clients such as Diesel, Environ Records, The Face, Giorgio Armani, and Vogue. Morey’s ongoing interest in pop and urban cultures is evident in the Club-21 collection of stencils, dot and square matrix, modular, LCD, typewriter, signage, and mechanically produced fonts.
