FontShop Plugin: Coming soon for Adobe InDesign

FontShop Plugin

With the addition of Adobe® InDesign® support, the FontShop Plugin now works in all of the most popular Adobe® Creative Suite® programs. At FontShop, we believe that at the heart of great graphic design is great typography. So in thinking how to get more and better type into the hands of great designers everywhere, we came up with a way to let them test out new typefaces from inside a familiar workflow.

Choose from the majority of the 150,000 fonts we carry (new fonts arriving weekly) directly from Adobe® Photoshop®, Illustrator®, and now InDesign. Use the FontShop Plugin to create comps, mockups, or to otherwise put type through its paces, free. After giving them a try, the plugin makes it easy to buy just what you need.

New foundry: Boutros International

Boutros International

FontShop is pleased to welcome its newest foundry, Boutros International. Led by Mourad and Arlette Boutros, the foundry specializes in adapting Arabic writing and calligraphy to the constraints of type and digital typesetting technology.

Boutros Thuluth

Lively and vibrant, Boutros Thuluth captures the speed and ease of stroke in traditional Arabic bamboo calligraphy. The dance of its forms and counterforms create a rich texture and exotic rhythm. Thuluth excels in display settings.

Boutros BBC Arabic

Boutros BBC Arabic was designed to thrive under the exacting requirements of on-screen text and in print. Both its weights, bold and medium, are spare but robust. Carefully fit forms lend credibility and flair to display sizes and blocks of text alike.

New Fontsmith fonts: FS Pimlico, FS Truman

FS Pimlico

Designed by Fernando Mello
Published by Fontsmith

FS Pimlico is Fernando Mello’s contemporary continuation of an age of experimental typographic development called the 1970s. What Pimlico lacks in disco pedigree it makes up for in moves. Its tight curves and swashy alternates say it all. The ‘Glow’ variant, radiant with dimension, brings a touch of Saturday Night Fever to Tuesday morning memos.

FS Truman

Designed by Jason Smith, Fernando Mello
Published by Fontsmith

In three weights, each with companion italics, FS Truman is legible and adroit. A block set in its regular weight has a texture that’s both approachable and alluringly dark.

New ReType font: Dulcinea

Dulcinea

Designed by Ramiro Espinoza
Published by ReType

Despite its Spanish Baroque ancestry, Ramiro Espinoza’s Dulcinea has a certain hipness to it, due in large part to its elegantly simple strokes and peculiar use of contrast. The non-connecting script comes with a complete set of flourished alternates and ligatures, enough to manage any unsightly collisions automatically through OpenType.

New exljbris extension: Museo Sans Cyrillic

Museo Sans Cyrillic

Designed by Jos Buivenga, Irina Smirnova
Published by exljbris

Leading the Museo Superfamily’s way into non-Latin territory, Jos Buivenga’s Museo Sans expands to cover Cyrillic-based languages in five weights, with optically adjusted companion obliques.
