Frankie
Frankie was born in 1992 at a time when Macs were becoming ever more popular and when each of us was to some extent going through a phase of experimenting with design and typography. Frankie is the result of a process of erosion, photocopying, scanning and digitisation based on the Franklin Gothic type designed by Morris Fuller Benton and published in 1904. An experiment that has become in one of the more “wasted” typefaces around Europe. Frankie was designed by Laura Meseguer with Juan Dávila. It’s a winner of the Silver Laus Award.

Following in the footsteps of his brother Frankie, Frankie Dos was born a few years later. Frankie Dos follows the same pattern: how to imitate analogic features in a vector-based typeface, this time in a more condensed width.
