Maurizio Osti
Maurizio Osti, artist, teacher, graphic and web designer, was born in Sasso Marconi, a small town outside Bologna, Italy, famous as the birthplace of Nobel prize winner Guglielmo Marconi. He lives and works in Bologna. As an artist, he has participated in many national and international exhibitions including: Linee della ricerca artistica in Italia 1960-80 Roma 1981, Undicesima Quadriennale, Roma 1986, Arte e Alchimia, XLII Biennale di Venezia 1986, Poesia Totale, Mantova 1998. Since 1978 Osti has taught courses in Special Graphic Techniques at the Accademia di Belle Arti, the very institute where Morandi once worked. He is Art Director and designer of various websites such as the Ministero della Giustizia, Normeinrete, Universitr di Padova, just published by Happy Books in Web Design in Italy 01. For Osti, designing type is like giving an individual voice to the printed text. Paraphrasing John Ruskin, to draw clearly is poetry, prophecy and religion all in one.
