Norwegian Fonts
There are not many fonts on the market that are made by Norwegians, but Norwegian Fonts gathered some type designers to make a select few fonts available - all inevitably with a certain Scandinavian flair to them. Jacob Øvergaard enjoyed copying letters from the printed Letraset catalogs when he was young. He went to Westerdals school of design and eventually landed a job at FontShop Norway/LUTH & CO AS, where he now works fulltime with fonts. Apparently this is not enough, as he spends copious amounts of his free time making original fonts. Torbjørn Eng is a typographer in Dagbladet – one of the largest Norwegian daily newspapers. In his spare time he investigates and writes about the typographic history of Norway, and about how to set typography properly. His font Frisianus is a nice piece of Norwegian typographic history. Magnus Holder Bjørk is a freshly educated designer now working in Trondheim, Norway. While at a design school in Australia he started developing an Art Deco font family, and with the helping hand of FontShop Norway his “DACO” font family was born.
