Alias License Agreements
AI Single-UserPlease read this before installing the Fonts.
If you do not accept this agreement, do not install the fonts. By installing the Fonts, you accept this agreement. "Fonts" means the fonts "also known as type, i.e. font or type software" specified in your invoice.
1.1 Permitted Number of Users: Your invoice indicates the number of workstations on which you may install the Fonts. The basic license is for 1-5 workstations and 1 output device. If you need to use the Fonts on more workstations than your invoice stipulates, you must purchase an upgrade.
1.2 Networks: Apart from the workstations licensed, you may also install the Fonts on a network server. The number of workstations licensed means each and every workstation where the Fonts will be used, not just the maximum number on a network that might possibly use it at any one time.
1.3 Remote Locations: For every workstation for which you are licensed, you may also install the Fonts on a portable (laptop) computer and/or a home computer, provided the Fonts are not used on the secondary computer(s) at the same time.
1.4 Alias License Extension
• A standard license allows for use for 5 computers through 1 output device at 1 location.
• 5 - 10 computers through 2 output devices add 50% to price.
• 11 - 50 computers through 3 - 10 output devices add 20% for each output device and/or 5 computers.
• 51 - 125 computers through 11 - 25 output devices add 15% for each output device and/or 5 computers.
• 126 - 250 computers through 26 - 50 output devices add 10% for each output device and/or 5 computers.
• 251+ computers through 51+ output devices add 5% for each output device and or 5 computers.
For use at a second location a separate license has to be obtained.
Any unauthorised distribution, copying, adaptation or use of font software is strictly prohibited.
2.1 Ownership. You have not bought the Fonts: you are licensed to use them, by the terms and conditions of this EULA. Alias retains title and all copyrights to the Fonts and accompanying documentation, and all copies and adaptations thereof in whatever media.
The Fonts are intellectual property, containing proprietary information and valuable trade secrets, and as such they are protected by the copyright laws of many nations, and by international treaties.
You may not rent, lease, sublicense, give, lend or further distribute the software or documentation, or any copy thereof except as expressly provided herein. You may not copy the Fonts, except as specified in this EULA in the rest of Section 2 below.
2.2 Back-up. Archival copies of the Fonts may be made.
2.3 Embedding. Embedding of the Fonts in documents (e.g. PDF files) is permitted for viewing and printing, but not for editing. If someone at a remote location wants to edit a document that contains embedded Fonts, they must purchase their own license. Internal corporate documents with embedded Fonts may of course be edited on licensed workstations.
2.4 Transfer. You may permanently transfer the Fonts provided the recipient accepts the terms of this EULA, and if you trash all your copies of the Fonts.
2.5 Modifications. You may modify typesetting produced by the Fonts in any way you see fit. You may also modify the Fonts for your own personal or internal business use, but you may not distribute, or transfer your adaptations; for instance, (a) you may not make customised versions of the Fonts for use by your clients,
(b) you may not adapt, or merge the Fonts to create hybrid Fonts for resale. Each workstation where a modified Font is installed shall be counted as one of your permitted number of users.
3. Warranty & Liability
3.1 Limited Warranty. Alias warrants that the Fonts will perform in accordance with the specifications (See 5, below), for a 30-day period following your receipt of the software. For warranty claims during this period, Alias will, through its distributor, at the Alias's discretion, either replace demonstrably defective Fonts or reimburse the license fee.
3.2 Disclaimer of Warranties. Except as stated above (3.1), Alias and its suppliers make no warranties, either expressed or implied, including but not limited to the implied warranties of merchantability, non-infringement of third-party rights, and fitness for a particular purpose. Alias and its suppliers do not and cannot warrant that
the Fonts will meet your requirements, function in an uninterrupted or error-free manner, or that defects will be corrected.
3.3 Limitation of Liability. Alias and its suppliers will in no event be liable to you for any direct or indirect damages, including any lost profits or lost savings, that arise out of the use, or inability to use, the Fonts, even if a Alias representative has been informed of the possibility of such damages, or for any claim by a third party. The above limitation may not apply in some jurisdictions.
4.1 Termination. This EULA terminates automatically without notice from Alias should you fail to comply with any of its provisions.
4.2 Use by Employees and Freelancers. It is your responsibility to inform employees, freelancers and any others who have access to the Fonts at your premises, of the terms and conditions of this EULA, and to ensure that they abide by these terms and conditions.

"Font Software" means coded software that is accompanied by this Agreement or that You have ordered online and that generates typeface designs when used with the appropriate hard- and software, plus any and all other data including documentation provided with such software.
"Licensed Unit" means installations of the Font Software that allow the design of Your Websites which have - based on any six consecutive calendar months - not more than the overall monthly average of Pageviews stated on Your invoice for the purchase of the Font Software. If no number of Pageviews is given on your invoice, the licensed number of Pageviews is 500,000 per month. "Use" means to design Your own personal or business Website with the typeface embodied in the Font Software and to make accessible the Font Software together with Your Website on a web server in order to enable a web browser to render the content of such a Website using the respective Font Software. "Website" as used here is a connected group of related web pages which form an entity whose content is managed by You, and which are organized under a particular domain name, including sub-domains. The Website can be viewed either over Your local area network or over the Internet. For the avoidance of doubt, web pages on sub-domains whose content is managed by other persons are deemed to be not part of Your Website.
"Pageview" is each request to load a single page of each of Your Websites. Pageviews - also referred to as page impressions or page requests - must be recorded by a commonly accepted or recognized performance tracking system. Alias reserves the right to request written copies of your average Pageview reporting statistics.
2. Grant of Licence and Restrictions
2.1. Grant of Licence. Alias grants You a non-exclusive licence to Use the Font Software in a Licensed Unit for Your own personal or business purposes according to the terms of this Agreement. If the average number of Pageviews under which the Font Software is Used exceeds the amount set forth in the Licensed Unit, then You must request from Alias or its authorized distributors an appropriate licence extension covering all Pageviews; an additional fee will be charged for this licence extension.
2.2. Restriction of Use. Alias and its suppliers do not warrant the performance or results You may obtain by using the Font Software. Alias and its suppliers make no warranties express or implied, as to non-infringement of third party rights, merchantability, or fitness for any particular purpose. In no event will Alias or its suppliers be liable to You for any consequential, incidental or special damages, including any lost profits or lost savings, even if a Alias representative has been advised of the possibility of such damages, or for any claim by any third party. This warranty does not affect any claims You might have against Your retailer.
6. Export Restriction
You agree that the Font Software will not be shipped, transferred or exported into any country or used in any manner prohibited by the United States Export Administration Act or any other applicable export laws, restrictions or regulations.
Alias has the right to terminate Your licence immediately if You fail to comply with any term of this Agreement. Upon termination, You must destroy the original and any copies of the Font Software.
