Emil Gursch was the main principal/owner of the Schriftgießerei Gursch in Berlin from 1866 until 1917, at which point the foundry was acquired by Otto Tech Berlin, an arm of H. Berthold AG. He remained part of the Berthold AG executive committee until well into the 1950s.
