Hendrik Weber

Hendrik Weber is a typographic designer, born in Germany. Hendrik studied graphic design at the University of Applied Sciences (FHP) in Potsdam but later transferred to Leipzig to continue his education at the Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst, from where he holds a Cum Laude degree in Type Design. During his time in Leipzig Hendrik rediscovered his calligraphic skills, fell in love with heavy, condensed sanserifs, and developed a special interest in italic letters. His graduation thesis 'Kursiv', a study of the Italic letterforms, has been published by the acclaimed Niggli Verlag in 2010.
Hendrik currently works and lives in Berlin.

His typeface Lirico joined the OurType collection in 2008, Lirico Press in 2010, and Edward in 2012.

In 2009 Lirico received the Type Directors Club NY Award and a nomination for the prestigious Design Award of the Federal Republic of Germany.
