Javier Quintana Godoy

Javier Quintana is an editorial & type designer, and a teacher born in Punta Arenas, Chile. He currently devotes himself to type design, book design and consultancy in type matters. Javier co-founded the cooperative design agency Toro. He’s contributed to numerous Chilean publications on typography. He was the editor of the first issue of Galactic Magazine, a digital review on astronomy. In 2012 he was part of the team who won the Amster-Coré award for the book Por la güeya del Matadero. His typefaces have been recognized at several editions of the Tipos Latinos biennale. He holds a Visual Communication Design diploma from the Universidad Tecnológica Metropolitana, and a Diploma in Typography from the Universidad Católica. His typefaces are distributed internationally via PampaType and Latinotype.
