Jessie Marion King
Scottish illustrator active from the 1890s, she was the leading female exponent of the Glasgow School. She studied at the Glasgow School of Art under Charles Rennie Mackintosh. She lived in Paris from 1910 to 1914, returning when the World War I broke out to live in the artist community of Kirkcudbright. There she set up “Green Gate Close”, which became a centre for women artists.
