Jonathan Dubay
In awe of the possibilities and challenges of type design, Dubay has worked closely with the artists and authors Barbara Getty and Inga Dubay to convey their beautiful italic handwriting style as faithfully as possible. His “artistic license” perhaps comes from a calligraphy certificate of award he earned at the age of 13, signed by master calligrapher Lloyd J. Reynolds. Dubay’s education was in classical music, but he has always had an interest in computer technology. Cracking the code to produce a join-as-you-type cursive italic handwriting font has been an intriguing and rewarding puzzle.
