Sabrina was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1987. She is a Graphic Designer graduated from Buenos Aires University. She has also studied calligraphy with the best teachers: Eugenia Roballos and Betina Naab in Buenos Aires, and she took classes with Julian Waters, Georgia Deaver and Carl Rohrs in Boston. Nowadays, she teaches Typography at Buenos Aires University.
Since 2009, she works designing fonts in Typesenses, her own foundry. Every font she publishes is a great success and has been part of the Best Sellers list. She is a demanding type designer, focused on studying calligraphy to learn more about the letter forms. She loves it, even though she is left handed. This was not an impediment, It was a real challenge. Due to she enjoys so much the contact with the paper and the ink, she decided that it would be the most important part of her work. Now, all her typographic projects start with her left hand. So, the start is her favourite part of the type design process, when she finds the design through experimental calligraphy. She considers that she reaches more expressive forms, she feels free, her hand is free and she gets new strokes that she never could make digitally. It is a matter of training eyes and hand: “the perfect technology is our bodies, while the computer is just a tool”. It is not just her work, It is her big passion.
