Simone May was born in Wuppertal, Germany in 1962. She studied in Wuppertal and Essen with a focus on type design, typography/book design and free illustration. She graduated with a degree in communications design. She's been working independently as a freelancer for various design agencies and a publishing house since 1990. She has published a number of typefaces at FontShop International and other typefoundries. She has also participated in book projects in Essen and Leipzig, Germany and is a member of the Four Kix group.
