Born in Minnesota, schooled across Michigan, and trained in Chicago, Terrance Weinzierl “fell in love with type” while studying graphic design at Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Mich. He has designed several retail typefaces, but most of his time is devoted to custom typefaces for companies like Microsoft, Google, Barnes & Noble and Domino’s (the Pizza Press typeface). He frequently speaks at events such as TypeCon, AIGA and the Game Developers Conference about type design and typography. Weinzierl has been designing typefaces for Monotype since 2008.
