Elefont supports up to 50 different languages such as Spanish, English, Portuguese, German, French, Italian, Dutch, Swedish, Finnish, Danish, Irish, Basque, Luxembourgian, and Icelandic in Latin and other scripts.

Bob McGrath designed Elefont in 1978. This semi serif typeface is very bold, and its terminals are semi rounded. Elefont is an all caps typeface. These traits make Elefont most suitable for headline and display purposes. The soft quality of the letters' design gives text set in Elefont a warm feeling. The design of the face is quite flexible, as there is very little width differentiation between individual characters.
