FF Inkling was born out of the question “How can one communicate through the digital realm using voices closer to their original sources, while at the same time being true to technology?” Two inspirations that helped lead to the final draft of FF Inkling are the early stages of children’s cursive writing and Joel Decker’s experiments of faxing cursive writing over and over, pushing legibility and idiosyncrasy to the extreme, and then cleaning it up to arrive at a kind of primitive-digital hybrid.
