H. A. Simon, a veteran of the German typesetting and advertising world, drew the first version of the FF Market to use in a few design jobs. After the positive reaction that he received from clients and users of the fonts – and the fact that it appearing in designs far beyond Simon’s original intention – he re-draw and extended the family.
As the name suggests, FF Market lends itself for use in the marketplace. It is at home on advertisements, posters, stickers, packaging, point-of-sale promotions, etc. FF Market is not an ivory tower typeface, but rather a match for shop windows. It is practical, but not impersonal; neutral, but still noticeable. Each weight contains ligatures for international currency abbreviations, as well as all the superior and inferior numbers needed for making fractions, or listing cents, pence, rappons, etc.
FF Market supports 108 different languages such as Spanish, English, Portuguese, German and French in Latin scripts. (Please note that not all languages are available for all formats.)
