With original sketches dating back to 2001, FF Massive already has a long history and has since been used in many DBXL designs. The face is suitable for logos, flyers, posters and magazine headlines where the goal is to project a sense of heaviness and slow the reader in the decode process. With its 2010 release the FF Massive OpenType family expanded to contain an outline version produced in eight different OpenType fonts, divided in four variations which together form a versatile typographic system. The eight different FF Massive variations enable the user to compose a number of combinations, which can lead to surprising results, especially when using contrasting colors. The fonts ship with a manual explaining how the FF Massive type system is can best be put to work.
