Inspired by the logo printed on the side of a cup from the erstwhile GDR dining car company Mitropa, Johannes Erler started work on FF Pullman in 1995. The original, somewhat stiff, basic typeface was joined by an elegant inline version. A layer font was added so that the inner and outer forms could be given different colors. Erler found a number of train symbols in old time tables which he digitized and added to the family. In two years time, and with a great deal of help from Tanja Jacobs, Julica Vieth and Manuela Frahm, the package was finished.
FF Pullman supports 63 different languages such as Spanish, English, Portuguese, German and French in Latin scripts. (Please note that not all languages are available for all formats.)
