Device is the font foundry arm of Rian Hughes’ studio. Offering over 200 fonts from the wacky comic-strip fun of Jemima to the Swiss sans seriousness of Paralucent, the range covers many unique and individual designs. Deriving from commissioned works for clients such as the Body Shop and 2000AD and custom symbol fonts for clients like Mac User and Judge Dredd, these designs are now available to the wider design community. Device has been releasing original designs since 1994, when the first 100 fonts launched the range. Since then they have been utilised across the globe on everything from corporate brochures to club flyers, cereal packets to airlines. Prior to that Hughes had designed six families for the FontFont range: FF Outlander, FF Knobcheese, FF Revolver, FF Rian’s Dingbats, FF Identification and FF Crash Bang Wallop.
