2K/Denmark was approached by the Virginia-based Schuyler Bible Publishers (pronounced Sky-ler) in early 2013 regarding the design of a luxury line of bibles in several English translations. The designers established the appropriate tone with Mike Abbink’sFF Milo® Serif handling the text and its sans complement FF Milo serving a navigational role in the page headers and footnotes.

The recent release of FF Real™, designed by Erik Spiekermann and Ralph du Carrois, marks the first time a digital typeface immediately became available as wood type as well. In a collaborative project Spiekermann’s letterpress gallery P98a and FontFont printed a limited edition specimen poster in two colors with the first font of original FF Real wood type.
In 2015 the Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design in Halle, Germany, looks back on a rich history that spans 100 years. The “Burg” is perhaps best known for its numerous workshops on campus which are deeply rooted in the university’s curricula and – of course – for the memorable landmark (Burg, Engl. castle) that is found in its unique name. Having lived through all the ups and downs of Germany’s history in the 20th century, this institution has accumulated a large variety of stories, anecdotes, and almost unreal moments.
