George Ryan is a member of the first wave of digital type design. He worked for Bitstream in the 1980s and then on to the Littleton, Massachusetts based Galápagos Design Group in the mid-90s before arriving at Monotype in 2004. His best known works include Gill Sans Nova, and Oz Handicraft, drawn from Oz Cooper’s lettering.
